May 27, 2025 – Interview on the “Júlia” show (SIC)
A TV segment filmed at the author’s home was broadcast on SIC’s “Júlia” show, where Thomàz Mazzei shared the story of the tragic motorcycle accident in the United States that changed his life and inspired him to transform his pain into art through writing.
In 2023, while studying in Nebraska, in the United States, Thomàz was a victim of a near-fatal motorcycle accident that left him with multiple fractures and going through months of intense recovery. Between a month in a coma, over 5 surgeries, and 11 months of intense physical therapy, this near-death experience became the spark for his literary journey.
The first result of this transformation is "The Dark Prince: Between Gods and Mortals", a fantasy and mythology trilogy following Khan, a young Sicilian who discovers his divine origin in Egypt and dives into a world of mysticism and spirituality. "Beneath the Dark City", on the other hand, takes it even more personal: it’s a story directly inspired by Thomàz’s accident, exploring the fear, pain, and resilience that come with surviving something life-changing.
Passionate about mythology, ancient cultures, and the spiritist teachings codified by Allan Kardec, Thomàz blends these influences with his own experiences to create rich, emotionally deep worlds. His writing turns trauma into art, giving readers not just gripping stories, but also a testament to strength, perseverance, and renewal.
"Now I'm really going to make it count and not put off what can be done today, because tomorrow might be too late."
